Oscar W. “Billy” Ward Jr., 67, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2025. Billy was born on December 12, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Oscar W. Ward Sr. and Eva L. Ward.
Billy was the beloved husband of Diane E. Ward and the devoted father of Megan Ward (Justin), Brittany Leeson (Jonathan Sr.), Ronald Busch, Patricia Hudson, Evelyn Ramos (Anibal), and Dawn Busch. He was a cherished grandfather to Logan, Austin, Dakotah, Jonathan Jr., Evelyn (Nathaniel), Chasity (Antonio), Tyler, Stefani, Clo’e, Leila, Kendell, Brandon, Joshua, Antonio, Eric, Kevin, and Ivan, and a proud great-grandfather to many.
He was the loving brother of Dreama Woodby (Kenneth) and was preceded in death by his brother Robert D. Ward. Oscar was a caring uncle to Steve Woodby, Robin Woodby (David), and Scott Woodby (Brenda), and a great-uncle to many.
Billy will be remembered with love by all who knew him. He had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went, and throughout his life he built and treasured many lasting friendships. His circle of friends near and far was large, loyal, and deeply meaningful to him. He valued every bond, every laugh shared, and every moment spent together.
He also had a lifelong passion for classic cars admiring them, talking about them, and enjoying the craftsmanship and nostalgia they carried. His love for vintage automobiles was a joyful part of who he was and something he loved sharing with others.
Billy was also known for his unforgettable habit of never wearing a shirt even in the cold, something that became a trademark of his laid-back spirit and larger-than-life personality.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family, to help with funeral expenses, would be appreciated. Visitation hours will be held on December 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Donlon Funeral Home, 15408 Triskett Road, Cleveland, OH 44111.
