Robert A Kubovcik

Robert Albert Kubovcik, 89, of North Olmsted, passed away quietly with his wife by his side, November 25, 2025. Bob was born November 17, 1936 in Beaverdale, PA, and graduated from Beaverdale High School in 1954. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served in Fairbanks, Alaska and South Carolina before leaving the service and beginning his studies at Fenn College. He met his future wife, Carol (nee Long), on the bus to school when his college textbook fell on Carol; he was smitten. They soon married and started their family, having four children together and settling in Lakewood to raise their children. He worked mostly in banking, adopting a number of hobbies along the way that kept him busy. He loved photography and spent a lot of time taking pictures of people and nature. He built a dark room and developed his own black and white photos, often experimenting with various filters and techniques in his dark room. Bob also loved fly fishing and would take time in small lakes and rivers to unwind with the calm waters and fish. As he got older, Bob picked up wood carving and was quite good at it. As he got less mobile, Bob began counted cross stitch, creating beautiful and intricate cross stich pieces. Throughout his life, Bob was a voracious reader, often tearing through a novel or the biography of some historical figure in a few days. He always had a few books waiting to be read nearby.

Bob also enjoyed travel with his wife Carol. They made a point of traveling to wherever their children or grandchildren were living (e.g., Oregon, South Carolina, Germany, New York), and taking trips on their own. He particularly loved the Great Smokey Mountains and Appalachia. One trip that was truly memorable was an Honor Flight he took a few years ago, where he was treated like a hero.

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol, children Cheryl Ludwa (Patrick), Sean (Wendy), and Kathy Hewston (Alan), grandchildren Bridget O’Hanlon (Cory), Christopher Kubovcik, Megan Ludwa (Rachel), Kyle Kubovcik (Tori), Samantha Hewston, and Timothy Hewston, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Betty Lou Najda (nee Kubovcik) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bob’s son Kevin predeceased him.

Bob was faithful to his family and his faith.

Linda M. Prudhoe

Linda M. Prudhoe, a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church,
passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025 in Medina.  Linda was
born on February 6, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Linda is the daughter of
the late Michael and Virginia McKelvey.  Linda is survived by her
daughter Lisa Rish (Dr. Michael) of Avon Lake.  Her grandchildren
Nathan, Noah, Lauren and Colin and her beloved sister Karen Rahl
(John) of Humble, Texas along with her nephews Kevin and Brian (Kylie)
and young great-nieces Tessa Joy and Lilly Ann.

Linda was a 1966 graduate of John Marshall High School and attended Bowling
Green State University.  With a strong work ethic and vibrant personality,
Linda became a working woman in the corporate world!  She benefited
from building a fruitful thirty five year career at Sherwin Williams Company.

Personal success aside, her greatest treasures were family, friends
and faith.  Immeasurable joy burst forth in the garden of her heart
when each of her grandchildren were born! Opportunities for special
moments with each of them was of utmost importance and nourished her
soul.  She spoke of them with such admiration - marveling at how each
continued to blossom in new, exciting ways.

Through the peaks and valleys, Linda cherished her friends.  Among
those she held most dear were "The Godesses" - Cheryl, DeeDee, Joy and
Lisa who has supported and celebrated each other shoulder to shoulder
and will continue to hold fast to their bond so deeply rooted in love
for one another.  Kind neighbors, Bernice and Pat were heaven-sent
as they were cheerleaders to bolster Linda's spirits, a helping hand
at a moment's notice or a peaceful presence in the wee small hours of
  the morning.

An unwavering faith was Linda's stronghold while enduring her short
illness.  She faced each day with hope, trusting she would soon be
welcomed with open arms to her eternal home.  As she persevered through
pain, she felt shaded in comfort by engaging in extended conversations
with her cousins and nephews, while also reminiscing with her sister,
Karen.  Linda embraced the gift of knowing her time was short and made
it a point to connect with those around her, encouraging them, showing
gratitude for the difference they made in her life and appreciation
for who they are in this world!

It was Linda's wish to be remembered with a smile on her face and a
song in her heart.  May the music made and shared together connect our
hearts always, until we're all joined together again in the heavenly
 choir of angels.

Marie D. Solgos

Marie Diane (Dee-Dee/Nana) Solgos

It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we share the passing of Marie Diane Solgos (Dudas), who peacefully returned to the House of the Father on Monday, April 28 having been fortified by the sacraments of Holy Mother Church.

Marie was an incredible mom to Joseph Simon (Basil) Damukaitis and the late Jeffrey James Damukaitis. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Chloe Emsoff and Corban James Damukaitis, and was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her newest great-grandchild, Luka James Emsoff, along with her beloved great-granddaughter, Kennady Emsoff.

Marie was the loving wife of Jerry (Jerome) Solgos, who predeceased her, and she cherished his family as her own. Born to Jim and Helen Dudas, Marie was the eldest of six siblings, including James, Joseph, Robert (deceased), Susan, and Bonnie. Family was her everything, and her bonds with her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and grandnieces were incredibly special to her.

Over the past two years, Marie was cared for by the devoted staff at Concord Reserve in Westlake, Ohio, and her appreciation for their kindness and compassion was evident even in her final days.

Marie was the ultimate friend to everyone she encountered. Her vibrant spirit made it impossible not to love her. She was the life of the party, known for her infectious enthusiasm and selflessness—always putting her children, family, and friends first. If she couldn't physically or financially lend a hand, she was always praying for others by name and their intention through the intercession of Our Lady.

Her viewing will take place on Friday, May 2, from 4-7 PM at Donlon Funeral Home, 15408 Triskett Rd, Cleveland, OH 44111. The Requiem Mass (funeral) will be on Saturday, May 3, at 10 AM at the Church of St. Mel, which has been the beloved parish of three generations of Dudases.

In our grief, we find comfort in knowing that Masses will be celebrated for her repose around the world, including Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in France on the day of her funeral.

Marie, you have brightened our lives and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for the love and laughter. Requiescat in pace, mom.
